Lighthouse / rear light incl. interior fittings from 1887
Almost four times as high as its smaller brother in Wremen, the "Obereversand" lighthouse stands 37.40 m tall and watches over the Dorum Deep. Moved from the Outer Weser to the harbour entrance of Dorum-Neufeld in 2003, it has become more than just a tourist attraction over the years. It is the landmark of Dorum. The viewing platform offers a wide view over the "Lower Saxony Wadden Sea" National Park, which was recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009. Inside the tower, visitors can experience the life and work of the lighthouse keepers in the late 19th century on a guided tour.
Secret tip: On the Obereversand there is the possibility to sail into the harbour of marriage.
