Fresh and tasty

The numerous restaurants, fish eateries, snack bars and farm cafés spoil you with regional products before, during or after a day on the bike and invite you to enjoy a delicious break. The North Sea Cycle Route offers a wide range of options for fish lovers in particular. You will find plenty of local fish shops and catering outlets, some with a long tradition. Redfish, cod or plaice – come and explore the great variety of the sea.

The picturesque cutter harbours, which are strung together like pearls along the coast, are also typical of the region. The colourful shrimp cutters set sail to the beat of the tides and bring fresh shrimps ashore every day. Be it in a fisherman's breakfast, a dish that is typical for the region, or as a shrimp roll, the small long-tailed prawns are a real North Sea delicacy.

"No pleasure is temporary, because the impression it leaves is permanent."

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
