Your fruit farm experience for the whole family. The fruit is grown and harvested by hand and sold in a refined form in the farm store and café.

Start the day in a healthy way with a delicious, regional breakfast buffet (Mon - Sat from 8:30 - 11:30). On Sundays and public holidays, you can feast on a sumptuous Altländer breakfast brunch from 9:00 - 11:00 and 11:00 - 13:00.

Homemade cakes and pies are baked daily in the Glashaus Café, and delicious snacks such as soups and other seasonal specialties are served at lunchtime. A playground for children to run around rounds off the offer.

The timbered extension, completed in 2022, offers space for meetings and celebrations. Family celebrations, company events and free wedding ceremonies can take place on 136 square meters. Regional food and drinks as well as other services can also be booked. The annex is equipped with state-of-the-art conference technology, high-quality furniture and a fantastic view of the apple orchard.

The Matthies fruit farm offers a varied place to feel good, with a great combination of the fruit farm, farm store, café and an event location for every occasion.

Obsthof Matthies - a diverse meeting place in the Altes Land

We received a special award for this from the "Regionale Esskultur" Elbe/Weser/Nordsee

In the farm store you can buy fruit from our own production depending on the season. In addition to Altländer specialties such as sausages, brandies and liqueurs, you can also choose between delicatessen, gift items around the fruit and much more. Vacation souvenirs and gift baskets from the beautiful Altes Land will delight those who stayed at home.

Obsthof guided tours in all weathers take place from April to the end of September. The Obsthof-Express takes you through the fragrant cherry and apple blossom in April and May and from June onwards through the crisp, full orchards. The boss himself will explain to you how fruit is grown in the Altes Land region today. In the midst of nature, there is plenty of time for questions that you have always wanted to have answered by an expert. The tour takes you past the production sites, storage locations and the irrigation basin. You will notice that you will see regional fruit with completely different eyes after this tour.

Program highlights: Fruit tasting - tour of the fruit barn with cherry or apple sorting machine - tour of the cold storage rooms, which keep the apples fresh for almost twelve months - strawberries at lofty heights: strawberry cultivation with a difference. Event location for every occasion, whether birthdays, christenings, confirmations, children's parties or team events (with conference technology)

Tastings such as "Discovering fruit in its many facets" take place regularly. Taste different apple varieties and discover the differences. Apple juice, a schnapps and a surprise to take home are also included. Ask for our dates.

Every year on the second weekend in September, during the Altländer Apfelwochen, the "Day of the Open Farm" takes place. A colorful mix of entertainment and information awaits you here. Fun and games about apples, guided tours of the orchard and lots of tasty treats await you.

The fruit farm is worth a visit at any time of year. Don't miss an event and take a look at our event calendar
