The garden can also be opened for groups outside of these opening hours by prior arrangement.
The Botanical Garden in the Stadtpark offers its visitors a wide variety of garden forms such as the herb spiral, the "forbidden garden", a fragrance and sensory garden, the rock garden, a wildflower meadow and many ribbons of flowers.
The garden is normally open all year round, but is closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. The spring blossom, the sprouting of leaves, the colorful autumn bloom as well as summer warmth and winter cold make the Botanical Garden a meeting place for nature lovers of all ages. However, children may only enter the facility when accompanied by an adult.
The Botanic Garden is barrier-free. Three disabled parking spaces and sufficient bicycle parking spaces are located directly in front of the main entrance. There is a car parking space on the opposite side of the street. The designation of the street as a cycle lane and a reduced speed limit of 30 km/h have also made it easier to cross Neuengrodener Weg for some time now.
The garden can be reached via the city bus route 2. The nearest bus stop, Friedenstraße/ BBS, is about 750 meters away.
Dogs are not allowed on the site. Guide dogs are exempt from this regulation.

Der B210 stadteinwärts folgen. An der Kreuzung Bismarckstr (B210) / Friedrich-Paffrath-Str. / Banter Weg, links ab auf Friedrich-Paffrath-Str., dieser folgen bis zur T-Kreuzung mit der Friedenstraße. Hier rechts abbiegen und der Friedenstraße folgen bis links der Neuengrodener Weg abzweigt. Diesem folgen, der Botanische Garten befindet sich auf der linken Straßenseite. Drei Behindertenparkplätze und ausreichend Fahrradparkplätze befinden sich direkt vor dem Haupteingang. Ein Pkw-Parkplatz befindet sich auf der gegenüberliegenden Straßenseite. Die Ausweisung der Straße als Fahrradstraße und eine reduzierte zulässige Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 30 km/h erleichtert seit einiger Zeit auch die Querung des Neuengrodener Weges. Die Zufahrt zum Botanischen Garten mit dem PKW ist nur noch über die Friedenstraße möglich. Zu Fuß oder per Fahrrad ist der Botanische Garten ebenfalls über die Freiligrathstraße erreichbar.
Der Garten ist über die städtische Buslinie 2 erreichbar. Die nächstgelegene Bushaltestelle Friedenstraße/ BBS befindet sich in etwa 750 Metern Entfernung.
