In addition to the usual planting, celebrities who come to the region plant a tree. A sign is then erected with the name of the plant/tree, the planting date, the name of the celebrity and their "field of activity" (actor, presenter, politician, sportsman, etc.).
The first plantings were carried out in July 2012. Dr. Ehrenberg, former Minister of Labour, planted a rowan tree; Wolfgang Niedecken, singer of BAP, planted a chestnut tree and Mirja Boes, comedian, planted raspberry bushes. In February 2013, Rolf Zuckowski enriched the garden by planting a silver maple. Kalle Pohl was a guest in May 2014 and planted a Japanese cherry and Uwe Seeler planted a rock pear in July 2014. In 2015, Bernhard Hoecker planted a Himalayan birch in September and Achim Reichel planted a globe maple in November. In spring 2017, Claudia Kleinert (ornamental apple), Klaus-Peter Wolf (pyramid plane tree) and Heike Henkel (scarlet thorn) were in the garden for planting, followed by Hans Kahlert (Uncle Krischan) and Johannes Oerding in the fall. Another tree by Hannes Jaenicke (fire maple) was recently planted in the Garden of Generations.
The association "Kunst- und Erlebnispfad e. V." has created a bronze sculpture, which was erected with two benches. The sculpture by Hennig Gieseke bears the name "All life originates from water". An insect hotel for the garden was built in collaboration with the elementary school's support association, set up and stocked by Year 4 pupils. Children from the Hooksiel kindergarten planted daffodil bulbs and residents from the neighboring retirement home planted tulip bulbs.
In addition to the positive effect for locals, this creates an additional attraction for holidaymakers - a meeting place for young and old with elements of art and movement. The municipality is providing half of the land, approx. 2,500 square meters, free of charge.
