Historical building
The prison was built in 1885 on the former castle grounds. At the time, it was common for the prison to be located next to the district court, which had moved into the Amtshaus built in 1773 at the same time. There were seven cells on the upper floor of the two-storey building, which can be recognized by the small barred windows. The constable's rooms were located behind the large windows on the mezzanine floor. There was also an infirmary and a pre-trial detention cell and a punishment cell in the basement. Offenders were housed in the small brick building until 1966, after which the building stood empty.
The new owner has since renovated and restored the building, whereby it was important to him that the room structure was preserved. The existing interior such as the folding beds, tables and seats in the cells, the bars in the corridors and the cell doors with spies and food flaps were also preserved and refurbished. To further emphasize the prison character, he also had the dilapidated courtyard wall raised again.

Today, business managers are trained in the former prison.
