On the mudflat walks to and in the Otterndorf mudflats, the experienced mudflat guides will show you the hidden treasures of the impressive flora and fauna, because some things can only be seen at second glance.
Equipped with a fork, bucket and sieve, your mudflat guide will take you into this impressive natural landscape to show you this natural area and discover it together with you. On the way, you will of course learn a lot about the Otterndorf pumping station, why the dyke is so important, about the North Sea and the Elbe World Shipping Route as well as the Wadden Sea.

Tickets for the mudflat hike are only available in advance.
In cooler weather, remember to wear sturdy shoes or rubber boots and weatherproof clothing. If you have sensitive feet, we generally recommend wearing wading/water shoes. You can buy so-called "beachies" at our tourist information office. It is also advisable to take something to drink with you.

Wir möchten auch mobilitätseingeschränkten Menschen ermöglichen, das Wattenmeer hautnah zu erleben. Unser unmotorisiertes Wattmobil kann aufgrund seiner großen Räder ideal über den Schlickboden geschoben werden und sogar kleinere Hindernisse überwinden. Das Wattmobil kann nicht aus eigener Kraft bewegt werden, es bedarf einer helfenden Hand, die das Wattmobil schiebt.

Kinder im Watt | Geführte Familien-Wattwanderung
Für Familien mit kleineren Kindern gibt es extra die Familien-Wattwanderung, hier liegt der Fokus auf den vier- bis achtjährigen Teilnehmer:innen. Die Führungen sind etwas kürzer und es wird auch nicht so „weit“ in das Watt hineingegangen. Kleine Spiele und Mitmachaktionen für die Kleinen bestimmen hier das Programm: Strandfunde suchen und ordnen, in Wasserstellen keschern und einen Krabbenwettlauf machen beispielsweise. Die Tickets für die Wattwanderung sind nur im Vorverkauf erhältlich.
Der Treffpunkt für die Familien-Wattwanderungen ist am Naturstrand Kap Jakob.
