The Kunsthalle Wilhelmshaven is the oldest cultural institution in the city. For over a hundred years, it has presented a broad spectrum of contemporary art from painting, sculpture, installation, performance and sound art.
A first representative building was opened in 1913 as the Kaiser-Friedrich-Kunsthalle on Gökerstraße. Destroyed during the war, only two portal spheres survived. Today they can be found in the entrance area of the new Kunsthalle.
Numerous internationally renowned artists were, and are, guests here - among them: Rainer Fetting, Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Meret Oppenheim, Pablo Picasso, Franz Radziwill, Norbert Schwontkowski and Franz Erhard Walther.

Sie verlassen die A 29 an der Abfahrt 3 Wilhelmshaven. Fahren Sie die Ostfriesenstraße - Friedrich-Paffrath-Straße entlang und biegen Sie nach ca. 4,3 km links in die Peterstraße. Nach ca. 2 km biegen Sie am Stadttheater links in die Virchowstraße ein. Nach ca. 500 m biegen Sie rechts in die Viktoriastraße, nach ca. 500 m rechts in die Adalbertstraße und nach ca. 100 m befindet sich auf der rechten Seite die Kunsthalle.
