Stade-Osterholz-Scharmbeck railroad line

Track number: 1260 Bremervörde-Stade; 9132 Bremervörde-Osterholz

A ride on the Moorexpress is certainly not the fastest way to travel between Stade and Bremen - but it is certainly one of the most beautiful ways to travel from Hanseatic city to Hanseatic city across the Teufelsmoor!

The historic train runs on an idyllic route at weekends and on public holidays from the beginning of May to the beginning of October. Stade, Stade-Hagen, Deinste, Fredenbeck and Mulsum lie along the route in the Altes Land region on the Elbe river. The historic Hanseatic town of Stade invites you to take a leisurely stroll through the old town. Sporting activities are possible on the golf course in Deinste. There is even more to learn about historic trains at the Deinster Feld- und Kleinbahnmuseum. Where trains once stopped, art now makes a stop - in the Mulsum station building. The artists' station is open to the public every weekend. The stately Dutch windmill "Anna-Maria" is also one of the many impressive mills in the region. Of course, there are many other attractive stops along the way, such as the eastern town of Bremervörde, the artists' village of Worpswede or the town of the Town Musicians: Bremen.

During the journey, you can learn more about the train, the landscape and the places during an audio tour (for an extra charge)

Tip: Take your bike on board! The train has a separate bicycle carriage - we strongly recommend booking in advance! A combination with the long-distance cycle route "From the Devil's Moor to the Wadden Sea" or the Elbe cycle touring bus is also ideal.

... and by the way: in winter, the Moorexpress runs various special trips, for example to guided tours in Stade, to a cabbage and pee meal in Fredenbeck or to readings in Worpswede.

You can view the current timetable for the Moorexpress on the Moorexpress website, tickets can be reserved at STADE Marketing und Tourismus GmbH, other ticket agencies can be found on the Moorexpress website.
