The Preußeneck Eckwarderhörne rear light is located on the tip of the Butjadingen peninsula. The 45-metre-high lighthouse, which was decommissioned in 2012, is a listed building due to its value as a testimony to local and technical history.
From two viewing platforms at a height of 18.40 and 34.50 meters, you can look out over the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park, the unique marshland landscape of Butjadingen, which has been pushed into the sea, and the port and naval town of Wilhelmshaven with the Jade-Weser-Port opposite.
Next to the lighthouse is the former engine house, which has been converted into a small documentation center. It uses modern presentation technology to convey the lighthouse, regional and contemporary history as well as the
cultural landscape history of the Jade Bay and Outer Jade.
