Built in 1928, the diesel pumping station has the largest pump in Europe.
The pump capacity is 24.00 qm/s at a delivery head of 1.60 m and 16.00 qm/s at a delivery head of 3.00 m. The propeller impeller of the pump has a diameter of 3.60 m.
Directly next to the diesel pumping station is the electric pumping station built in 1953. The pump capacity is 2 x 10.00 qm/s with a delivery head of 1.60 m  or 2 x 6.00 qm/s. The electric drive consists of two motors with an output of 370 KW each. The pumping station is used to drain the hinterland, which lies below sea level.
