The 57-hectare park was built in 1914. A special feature of the city park is the 1.5 km long city park canal with large ponds at both ends. The "Bootshaus" is located at the eastern end of the pond and offers a welcoming and modern ambience. From here you can also explore the canal in pedal boats.
The cemetery of honor is located on the edge of the city park. It is the burial place of fallen marines from the naval battles of the First World War and the fallen of the Second World War.
As the largest green space in the city, the city park is very popular with runners. Old trees and the scent of woodruff create a special ambience. Children will love the large playground with ropeway, swings and climbing facilities.
Please note that the playground is currently closed due to construction work (as of 05/24).

Über die A29, Abfahrt Wilhelmshavener Kreuz. Der B210 (Oldenburger Str. / Bismarckstr.) stadteinwärts folgen. Nach ca. 5,5km links abbiegen auf die Friedrich-Paffrath-Straße. Dieser ca. 500m folgen und rechts abbiegen auf die Friedenstraße. Nach ca. 1km links abbiegen auf den Neuengrodener Weg. Nach ca. 750m befindet sich die Zufahrt zum Stadtpark auf der linken Straßenseite.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass der Neuengrodener Weg als Fahrradstraße ausgewiesen ist, und von PKW nur noch über die Friedenstraße zum Stadtpark befahrbar ist. Per Rad oder zu Fuß ist der Stadtpark auch über die Freiligrathstraße erreichbar.
