In the old Twielenfleth lighthouse from 1893 in the Altes Land orchard, model ships from the time when the lighthouse was built can still be admired today. The landmark has guided ships on the Lower Elbe for almost 100 years. From the start of lighthouse operation in 1893 until its replacement by a modern successor on October 12, 1984 (shown in the photo), a wide variety of ships passed through Hollern-Twielenfleth. Today you can get an overview of the diversity and development of shipping here. You can find more information here.
