The fourth stage starts in Norden and passes through tranquil East Frisia always along the coast. Enjoy the views of the East Frisian Islands when visibility is good. There is an intermediate zone in the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park in Hilgenriedersiel in the heart of the quiet zone to the east of Norden, where an old natural bathing area is still open for use. It is the only natural bathing area surrounded by salt marshes on the East Frisian coast. How about cooling off before continuing your tour?
You reach the harbour town of Neßmersiel a few kilometres further east. You can take a boat from there to the island of Baltrum. You then continue along the coast via Dornumersiel to Bensersiel, where a ferry departs for Langeoog. Following flat terrain, the route leads into the coastal hinterland to the town of Esens, where the panoramic views from the steeple of St Magnus Church are well worth the visit. You then continue via Groß Holum to Neuharlingersiel, a harbour town from where the ferry sails to Spiekeroog. Travelling along the quiet coastal passage, the route leads past grazing sheep to Harlesiel, where you will reach today's destination. The boats leave for Wangerooge from the ferry pier.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author
The heart of the 300-year-old fishing village of Neuharlingersiel is its harbour with its active crab trawlers. It's worth taking a short break here to relax and unwind surrounded by an idyllic atmosphere.
