Through the inland areas of Dithmarschen back to the North Sea in Büsum.
The stage starts in Brunsbüttel. From here, the route heads inland into Dithmarschen through beautiful little villages in the heart of the Geest landscape. It passes forests and small wooded field boundaries as you discover romantic thatched houses and historic mills along the way.  You can recognise one of the most important early Gothic structures on the west coast from a distance - Meldorf cathedral. Upon arriving in Meldorf, it's worth taking a trip through the historic town centre.

The route proceeds along the old Meldorf harbour to the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea, where the cycle continues along the North Sea to today's stage destination of Büsum. A visit to the museum harbour or a small picnic on the dyke for refreshments with views overlooking the North Sea is well recommended.
