From St. Peter-Ording to Husum - pristine nature and endless expanses together with small villages characterise this stage.
The route departs from the long sandy beach in St. Peter-Ording and leads inland to the Eiderstedt peninsula, which juts out about 30 kilometres into the North Sea and boasts a unique landscape. After passing one of the oldest settlements on the peninsula - the idyllic village of Tating - the journey continues eastwards between green marshy meadows. After a short while, you reach the small town of Garding, which entices visitors with its many attractive events and excellent shopping opportunities. The historic market square featuring the 900-year-old church of St. Christian, the tower of which is the highest point in Eiderstedt and for many years served as a navigational aid for sailors because it could be clearly seen from the North Sea, also marks the centre of the small town.

Passing fields and forests, the journey takes you directly back to the North Sea coast to the idyllic village of Uelvesbüll with its thatched houses and sheep on the dyke. Anyone wishing to make a detour to St Nikolai's Church can admire a particularly rare organ by a famous Danish organ builder.

After cycling a few kilometres through the inland, you will reach today's stage destination - the harbour town of Husum. Its urban life combined with maritime flair invites you to round off the day at the harbour or in the old town. Or you can follow in the footsteps of Theodor Sturm through his birthplace.
